Questions
People Ask.
What conditions do you use stem cell therapy for?
Most commonly joint pain and osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries that have not settled with conservative care, soft-tissue healing, and hair thinning. We also discuss it for general recovery and tissue repair. Which of these is reasonable for you depends on the examination, not the list.
Is stem cell therapy FDA-approved?
No. The donor-derived products used in this field are treated by the FDA as biological products that require a licence before they can be sold, and none holds one for these uses. We will tell you this before you decide anything.
What is the difference between PRP and stem cell therapy here?
PRP is made from your own blood on the day, and has the better evidence base, particularly for knee osteoarthritis and for hair. Stem cell therapy uses donor-derived material and has less published human evidence. They are not interchangeable, and PRP is often the sensible place to start.
Do you use stem cells for hair loss?
We offer it, and we will be straight about where it stands: no stem cell or exosome product is approved for hair loss, and the published evidence is limited. For hair we usually suggest starting with PRP, which has better data behind it.
Does stem cell therapy work for knees and joints?
The evidence for joint pain is the strongest part of this field, and it is still mixed. Reviews report improvements in pain and function in some trials and no advantage in others, with wide variation in how products are prepared. It is reasonable to try in well-selected cases, and it is not a substitute for a knee replacement that is genuinely needed.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends entirely on the problem and the joint. Anyone quoting you a package before examining you is selling, not planning.
What does it cost?
It varies with the site treated and the number of sessions, so we quote at consultation. Insurance does not cover it. Ask for the total cost of a course in writing, from us or from anyone else.
Who should not have this?
People with an active infection, certain cancers, or uncontrolled bleeding disorders. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are reasons to wait. We screen before anything is scheduled, and we say no when it is the right answer.
Which areas do you serve?
Our clinic is in Jacksonville Beach. We also see patients from across Duval County and the beaches, including Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, Ortega and Fernandina Beach.
