Start Your Transformation

Stop Guessing.
Start Optimizing.

Medical weight loss means a prescription, a physician, and someone watching what happens next. At EverVive Health in Jacksonville Beach that is exactly what it means — an assessment, labs where they matter, an FDA-approved medication where it is indicated, and regular review for as long as you are on it.

We will be straight with you about two things most clinics skip. These medications work, and the trial evidence behind them is genuinely strong. They are also a long-term treatment for a chronic condition, not a course you finish — and what you weigh a year after stopping is mostly a function of what happened while you were on it.

If you are looking for the cheapest monthly injection, we are not that clinic. If you want a physician who will tell you when you are not a good candidate, keep reading.

A Complete Protocol
for Lasting Change.

Step 1: Assess

Comprehensive Metabolic & Hormonal Paneling

We begin with advanced lab work to map your hormonal landscape, metabolic rate, inflammatory markers, and nutritional status — giving us the precise data needed to build your protocol.

Step 2: Treat

FDA-Approved GLP-1 Medications

Where it is clinically indicated, we prescribe the FDA-approved medications — semaglutide and tirzepatide — rather than compounded copies of them. That is a deliberate choice, and the section below explains why it matters more in 2026 than it did two years ago.

Step 3: Sustain

Ongoing Physician Guidance & Strategy

Regular physician check-ins, biomarker tracking, nutritional strategy, and protocol adjustments mean your plan is reviewed and adjusted as your own data changes over time.

The Approved Drug,
Not a Copy of It.

For a couple of years, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide were everywhere, and lawfully so: the FDA had declared both drugs in shortage, which opened a pathway for pharmacies to make copies.

That pathway has closed. The shortages were resolved — tirzepatide in late 2024, semaglutide in February 2025 — and with them the legal basis for mass compounding. Since September 2025 the FDA has issued dozens of warning letters over false or misleading marketing of compounded GLP-1s, including 30 to telehealth companies in March 2026. Lilly and Novo Nordisk have sued more than a dozen compounders and telehealth firms.

We should be precise, because plenty of pages on this subject are not. Compounding is not blanket illegal: a 503A pharmacy can still prepare a patient-specific formulation where a prescriber documents a genuine clinical reason. And the FDA's April 2026 move to exclude these drugs from the 503B bulks list is still a proposal, not a final rule.

What it means for you is simpler. With the approved product you know the manufacturer, the dose in the pen and the safety reporting behind it. With a compounded copy, you are relying on the pharmacy. We would rather you had the first.

What the GLP-1 evidence shows

Two Things
You Should Know First.

Stopping usually means regaining

In the STEP 1 extension, people regained about two-thirds of their lost weight within a year of stopping. In SURMOUNT-4, 82% of those moved to placebo regained more than a quarter of what they had lost. This is a long-term treatment for a chronic condition. Anyone selling it as a short course is not telling you that.

Some of the loss is muscle

Body-composition data put lean tissue at roughly a third to 40% of total weight lost — broadly what happens in any large weight loss, but it still matters. Trials combining the drug with supervised resistance training have seen patients hold or even gain lean mass. Protein in the region of 1.2 to 1.6 g per kg per day is the working target.

Which is the argument for supervision

Both of those are manageable, and neither is managed by a mail-order prescription. They are managed by tracking body composition rather than just weight, by building the training and protein in from week one, and by planning the exit before you need it.

When We
Say No.

These medications are not for everyone, and part of what you are paying a physician for is someone willing to say so:

  • A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, or MEN2. This is a boxed contraindication.
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive.
  • Active pancreatitis or severe gastrointestinal disease.
  • Some eating disorder histories, which need specialist input before anything is prescribed.
  • Anyone whose weight is not actually the problem. Untreated thyroid disease, sleep apnoea and certain medications all drive weight gain, and a GLP-1 prescribed over the top of them treats the wrong thing.

Questions
People Ask.

How much does medical weight loss cost in Jacksonville?

It depends on the medication, the dose you settle at, and whether your insurance covers any of it. We quote the full picture at consultation. Ask any clinic for the all-in monthly cost including visits and labs, not just the injection price.

Do you prescribe compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?

No. We prescribe the FDA-approved medications. The shortages that made large-scale compounding lawful ended in 2025, and the FDA has since issued dozens of warning letters to telehealth firms marketing compounded GLP-1s.

Is compounded semaglutide illegal?

Not automatically. A 503A pharmacy can still compound for a specific patient with a documented clinical reason. What ended is the shortage-era pathway for mass production. In April 2026 the FDA proposed excluding these drugs from the 503B bulks list; as of October 2026 that remains a proposal, not a final rule.

Will I regain the weight if I stop?

Most people regain a substantial amount. In the STEP 1 trial extension, participants regained roughly two-thirds of the weight they had lost within a year of stopping. In SURMOUNT-4, 82% of those switched to placebo regained more than a quarter of what they had lost. Planning for that from the start is the point of supervision.

Will I lose muscle on a GLP-1?

Some of what you lose is lean tissue — body-composition substudies put it around a third to 40% of total weight lost, which is broadly what happens with any substantial weight loss. Resistance training and adequate protein are the best-supported way to limit it, and they are part of the plan here rather than an afterthought.

Who is not a candidate?

Anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, and anyone pregnant or trying to conceive. Active pancreatitis, severe gastrointestinal disease and some eating disorder histories also rule it out or need specialist input first. We screen for all of these.

How long before I see anything?

Dose escalation is deliberately slow to limit nausea, so the first weeks are about tolerance rather than results. Meaningful change is generally measured over months, not weeks.
